The festival of Dussera is considered auspicious for starting any new venture. It is regarded as one of the most holy mahurat for any good beginning according to Hindus. On the auspicious occasion of Dussera, October 3, 2014, workers belonging to NIPHAD Co-Operative Sugar Factory had a reason to rejoice. The factory which was shut for more than two years was revived with a formal puja. In the words of Satpal Singh Oberai, Managing Director of Bombay Ace Motors India Pvt Ltd, the company which has taken over the sick factory stated, “We are all like one big family where all members are equal. Nobody is big or small. Regular work will commence soon and we will strive to bring the factory to number one position within a span of three years” He also assured that all the workers who were unemployed will get their dues soon. Hearing this, 850 plus employees and 500 plus farmers who converged at the venue heaved a sigh of relief, as the news spelled hope of a better tomorrow. Many of them expressed the view that Diwali would not be a dark one, this year.
During the formal function, the chief guest Satpal Singh Oberai was welcomed by VS Mogal, Union leader, and Assistant Engineer. All the announcements were made by Somnath Gadak, Lomb Chemist Manufacturing. S K Nikkam, Deputy Chief Engineer was the co-ordinator (anumodak) for the program. Chief Engineer P R Tarle was the co-ordinator for the function. In his address the Chairman Bhagwat (baba) Boraste thanked all those present at the venue for their support and patience shown during the difficult days. The Chairman also stated, “We have worked tirelessly for this day. Many earlier attempts to revive the factory proved futile but this time it is real”. S Shinde donned the role of the anchor during the formal function. During the auspicious occasion of Dussera, Jennifer Isaac, another Director of Bombay Ace Motors India Pvt Ltd, also graced the occasion.
Other guests and special invitees who attended the function included kachru Daghu Rajole, Leelavati Laskar, Sindhutai Kharat, Shivaji Laskar, Bhausaheb Kharat, Babanrao Sanap, Shivaji Darle, Raosaheb Rayate, Gangubai Kadam, Daulatrao Muskute, Bhagvat Bhandare, Rupali Nanavre, Gavale, Sunil Ghadak, Bhise, and others. The program concluded with S A More, Distillery incharge proposing the vote of thanks. The gratified workers and their families thanked the new MD for reviving the company by taking it over on lease for a period of 20 years. All the guests and employees departed after partaking the festive lunch sponsored by Mr. Satpal Singh Oberai and his team.
